Th Eenglish translation of the anonymised ground-breaking decision of the District Court in Prešov which ruled that the school in Šarišské Michaľany had discriminated against Romani children by teaching them in separate classrooms without reasonable justification. The case was initiated by our actio popularis claim submitted within our strategic litigation program. It is the first court decision condemning school segregation of Roma children in Slovakia. On 30 October 2012, the Regional Court in Prešov, an appeal court, upheld the first instance ruling and confirmed the order to desegregate the school.
