Pavol is of Roma origin and lives with his family in one of the villages in Spiš region, Slovakia.

Pavol contacted us years ago to help his sister, who faced police violence. Thanks to his commitment, his sister decided to seek justice. Her case is currently before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, where we argue that the police violence experienced by his sister has not been properly investigated by the responsible authorities in Slovakia.

In this video, Pavol briefly tells his sister’s story and answers the question – why is it important to stand up for your rights. We believe that it inspires as many people as possible to stand up for their rights.
