At the Centre for Civil and Human Rights, we have been working for more than twenty years to protect human rights and promote equality, dignity, and justice for all people without discrimination.

This video captures a networking meeting of Roma women from Slovakia and Hungary, held on 13–14 April 2026 in Herľany, Slovakia. The meeting provided a safe space for sharing experiences, mutual support, and open discussion about the challenges Roma women face in exercising their rights.

During the meeting, participants discussed violations of Roma women’s rights, reproductive rights, access to healthcare, and ways to jointly promote respect, equality, and justice. The programme also included an exchange of experiences among Roma women and presentations by organisations from Slovakia and Hungary working in the fields of human rights protection and women’s empowerment.

The video features authentic testimonies from Roma women about their experiences, their courage to stand up for their rights, and the importance of solidarity and mutual support. Their stories remind us that respect for human dignity, bodily autonomy, and reproductive rights is a fundamental part of a democratic and just society.

We believe that every woman has the right to make decisions about her life freely, informedly, and without discrimination. Only through collective efforts can we build a society in which the rights, dignity, and equality of all people are truly respected.
