The District Court in Prešov, by its judgment from 6 November 2023, upheld our public anti-discrimination lawsuit and ruled that the State, represented by the Ministry of Education, and the Regional Office of School Administration, as defendants, had failed to take effective measures to prevent and eliminate discrimination against Roma children from the village of Malý Slivník at the primary school in a village Terňa. The court ordered the defendants to develop a so-called desegregation plan within 6 months of the judgment becoming final and to comply with it within 2 years, so that the unlawful situation would be eliminated. The judgment is not final and the defendants may appeal against it.
