On December 9, 2025, we met with Roma women with whom we have been working for a long time – this time in Prešov. The meeting created a safe space for open discussion about the serious problems women face in accessing healthcare.

Together, we focused mainly on the following topics:

segregation in the maternity ward at the Prešov hospital,
discriminatory practices by the emergency medical services.

The women shared their personal experiences, supported each other, and together we looked for specific solutions – what they can do together on these issues and how we can support them.

We consider such meetings to be crucial. They are an important space for sharing experiences, strengthening the voice of Roma women, and seeking ways to bring about systemic changes that lead to equal and dignified treatment for all.
