Ladislav Duda lives in a town Sabinov (eastern Slovakia), where he works as a field social worker. The town has a large Roma community and Laco belongs to it. Roma in Sabinov experienced discrimination. In the past, for example, due to their ethnic origin, they could not go swimming in the local summer swimming pool. In the past, some were illegally evicted to the outskirts of the town, which was confirmed by Slovak courts.

Laco, with the support of our non-governmental organization, for years has been standing up against discrimination against Roma in the town. His persistance and commitment deserve admiration. In this video, Laco answered the question – why is it important to stand up for your rights. We hope that it inspires as many people as possible to stand up for their rights.
