On 27 April 2026, we participated in a meeting with the Swedish Ambassador Annika Ben David during her visit to Košice. The meeting with representatives of non-governmental organizations working in the field of human rights protection created an opportunity for an open discussion on current issues and challenges faced by vulnerable groups in Slovakia.

During the meeting, we introduced the work of the Poradna and discussed our activities in the field of human rights protection, particularly the situation of vulnerable groups, including the Roma community. We highlighted the persistent and, in many cases, worsening living conditions of people living in marginalized Roma communities, including difficulties related to access to adequate housing and healthcare.

The discussion also focused on the current state of civil society in Slovakia, its important role in protecting human rights, and the challenges organizations working in this field are currently facing. We also opened a discussion on the need for further cooperation and support for activities aimed at protecting and promoting human rights.
