We Educated Roma Women in Krivany
On May 13, 2026, our colleagues Veronika, Nasťa, and Agáta once again had the opportunity to educate Roma women, this time in the village of Krivany. The event took place at the invitation of the Carpathian Foundation as part of the Upre ženy program.
During the meeting, they focused on the topic of discrimination in employment and discussed how to recognize it, the different forms it can take, and what options women have if they encounter discrimination. The discussion also included information about the state institutions responsible for the protection of human rights that women can turn to in cases of discrimination, as well as the available forms of assistance and support.
The meeting created a space for open discussion and sharing experiences, with personal stories and participants’ perspectives on the challenges they face in the field of employment forming an important part of the conversation.
We would like to thank the Roma women from Krivany for their openness, trust, and willingness to share their experiences. Meetings like these represent an important step toward strengthening awareness of women’s rights, promoting equality, and creating a safe space for mutual sharing and support.
