Meeting with women in Svini: on discrimination, rights, and support
On November 25, 2025, we met again with women from Roma communities, this time in the village of Svinia in the Prešov district. The meeting provided an opportunity for open dialogue about the daily challenges women face, as well as their rights and opportunities for support.
Together, we talked about experiences with segregation in maternity wards, problems with bus transport, living conditions in communities, but also other forms of discrimination and human rights violations that women encounter in their everyday lives.
The discussion also included practical information on how to defend oneself against discrimination, what legal tools exist, and what forms of assistance are available not only to women themselves, but also to the people around them.
We thank all the women for their trust, openness, and sharing of personal experiences.
