On 2 June 2026, we organized a meeting with Romani women in Jarovnice. The aim of the meeting was to create a space for a joint discussion on human rights, historical memory, and the importance of justice for women who have faced serious violations of their rights in the past.

During the meeting, we delivered greetings and a letter from Michael O’Flaherty. In his letter, he expressed his support for Romani women who were unlawfully sterilized and acknowledged their long-standing efforts to obtain justice and recognition for the harm they have suffered.

The programme also included a discussion about an upcoming research project that will focus on documenting the life stories and experiences of Romani women who were unlawfully sterilized in the past or who have been subjected to other forms of human rights violations. Through the collection of personal testimonies, we aim to contribute to preserving historical memory and to improving understanding of the impact these violations have had on the lives of the women and their families.

We will provide further information about the research project and related activities in the coming weeks.
