Legal internship during the summer holidays
At the end of the summer, we had the opportunity to welcome Adela, a volunteer, to our team. Adela was born in Slovakia but lives with her family in England, where she studies law.
She is interested in human rights, equality, anti-discrimination law and the protection of minority rights. The rights of Roma people are also personally important to her due to her Roma heritage. During a visit to her family in Slovakia, she therefore decided to spend some of her time volunteering with our organisation.
During her time at Poradňa, she learned more about our work and the issues we have been addressing for many years. She also contributed to a specific case and had the opportunity to gain a closer insight into our everyday work in the field of human rights protection and combating discrimination.
We appreciate her willingness to get involved, ask questions and learn.
We greatly value the interest of young students in human rights and the issues we work on. It is important to us that young people are interested in the situation of Roma communities in Slovakia and are looking for ways to contribute to positive change through law.
Adela, thank you for the time you spent with us at Poradňa. We wish you every success in your further studies and on your journey in law.
