A group of Romani women activists from Jarovnice and Hermanovce, with whom we have been working closely for many years, was nominated for the Roma Spirit 2024 Award in the Act of the Year category.

We were strongly rooting for them, but unfortunately they did not receive the award. Nevertheless, they truly deserved the recognition for their courage and determination in advocating for justice for unlawfully sterilized Romani women for more than 20 years. We congratulate all the award recipients.

Representatives of the women’s group, together with our colleagues, attended the gala evening in Bratislava held on the occasion of the award ceremony. They were also personally supported by our organization’s co-founder, Barbora Bukovská.
