In November 2023, in collaboration with Amnesty International Slovakia, we called on the Slovak Government officials to consistently use EU funding from the Recovery Plan for primary education reforms in a way that consistently contributes to desegregating Roma children and promoting the diversity of pupils in primary schools. We communicate our serious concerns about the current government solutions to the elimination of double-shift operation in primary schools close to excluded Roma communities. We point out that schools attended by Roma children from excluded communities have to be desegregated. This effort requires planning and a comprehensive approach, which will also lead to the elimination of the problem of double-shift operation at these schools. Available in Slovak language.
