The Voice of Roma Women: “Together for Systemic Change in the Protection of Reproductive Rights in Healthcare”
We are implementing the project from 1 September 2026 to 30 September 2027. Its aim is to strengthen the position of Roma women in advocating for their reproductive rights and to contribute to systemic changes that ensure quality, dignified and non-discriminatory healthcare.
The project is being implemented in six localities in the Košice and Prešov regions. Through meetings with Roma women, we create a safe space for sharing their experiences with healthcare and for their involvement in advocacy activities. An important part of the project will be a two-day advocacy meeting with relevant human rights institutions, where Roma women will have the opportunity to present their experiences and jointly seek support for advancing systemic changes in healthcare.
An important part of the project will also be ensuring that the voices and experiences of Roma women are heard in the public sphere. Through media outputs, we will draw attention to their experiences and the need for changes in healthcare.
We want Roma women not to be merely subjects of monitoring, but active co-creators of changes that will lead to dignified and non-discriminatory healthcare.
This activity is funded by the European Union under the project “Roma CSOs promoting EU values” (ROVA), coordinated by the European Roma Grassroots Organisations Network and, in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, by the RomanoNet platform.
