On 17 June 2024, we trained employees from the NGOs – Karpatská nadácia and ETP Slovensko – in the field of protection against discrimination.

We were approached after their employees, together with a group of Roma women, were recently refused service at a restaurant near Lunik IX in Košice. They were interested in learning more about what discrimination is and how to fight back.

We talked about it together:

  • What discrimination is and how it is regulated by our anti-discrimination law
  • In what areas we can encounter discrimination
  • How to detect, prove and defend against discrimination
  • What cases of discrimination we have dealt with in the Counselling Centre and with what results

We thank the participants for their interest in the topic of discrimination. We believe that they will be able to apply the information they have acquired in practice, in helping and supporting their clients from Roma communities.
