We organized a networking meeting for Roma activists
When people with courage and a desire to change things come together, something powerful happens. That is exactly what we experienced during three inspiring days in Danišovce.
From October 27 to 29, 2025, Roma activists from marginalized communities gathered here to share their personal stories, experiences, and ideas on how to strengthen the voices of people in their communities. The three days were filled with learning, networking, and mutual support—we left with new energy, inspiration, and many contacts.
Representatives from the Office of the Public Defender of Rights (Ombudsman) and the Slovak National Center for Human Rights (the Equality body) also joined the discussions online, enriching the program with important insights and practical experiences.
Together, we talked about the human rights violations that many Roma people face every day and looked for ways to stand up for our rights and be active members of our communities.
We would like to thank all participants for their openness, trust, courage, and desire to change things for the better.
