A group of long-standing Roma activists, expanded to include new members, met at a ranch in Ražňany
On September 29-30, 2025, we organized a two-day meeting of Roma activists with whom we have been cooperating for a long time. This time, we met in the beautiful surroundings of Ranč Dubina in Ražňany.
The group was joined by new women who are interested in meeting regularly to address human rights violations that they commonly encounter in their lives.
Over the course of two days, we got to know each other, shared our expectations, and discussed the issues that most concern women in their communities. In small groups, they proposed possible solutions and identified what support they would need from us at the Counseling Center.
Finally, we agreed on a plan for further meetings until the end of the year. In the evening, we watched a report on forced sterilizations, which was filmed in the summer by German television and radio station Deutsche Welle.
We look forward to continuing our cooperation with the expanded group of Roma activists. At the Counseling Center, we will continue to provide them with space and support so that they can learn more about the possibilities of legal protection against discrimination.
We thank all participants for their openness, trust, and for sharing their personal stories.
